Catalogue and accession management, down to the copy

The Flocci catalogue tracks titles AND their physical copies: each copy carries an accession number, shelf location, and condition grade (New, Good, Fair, Poor), while availability rolls up live at the title level. Search the whole collection by barcode, title, author or genre.

Title-level view, copy-level truth

A title tells you what the library owns; a copy tells you where it is and what state it's in. Both exist: five copies of the same book are five accession records with their own shelf locations, conditions and loan histories.

The accession register, upgraded

The traditional accession register becomes searchable, filterable and live: no lost pages, no sequential-number arithmetic, and stock verification against real records instead of memory.

Condition tracking that pays for itself

Grading copies New / Good / Fair / Poor at intake and return makes weeding, write-offs and replacement purchases evidence-based — and settles 'it was already damaged' disputes instantly.

Frequently asked questions

What is an accession number?

A unique serial identifier assigned to each physical copy when it enters the library (e.g. LIB-004521). Flocci uses it as the copy's identity for circulation, shelving and condition tracking.

Can two copies of one book be on different shelves?

Yes — shelf location is a per-copy field, so a reference copy and a lending copy can live in different sections while sharing one title record.

How does condition tracking work?

Each copy carries a grade — New, Good, Fair or Poor — editable at intake and return, giving you a defensible record for weeding and replacement decisions.
